E) Barak Obama. I'm seriously considering moving from Texas to Chicago, just to be his constituent.

Obama would be great, but I think 2008 might be too early. He'll make a great candidate in 2012, though.

A. Hillary will probably make at least create some curiosity about a run. She should campaign, expect to lose, but expect to get asked for Vice President next to a white man and win.

B. Kerry, unless possessed by the Buchanan spirit, will not run again.

C. Edwards will make a definite attempt, because he's vain and loves to hear himself speak. Charisma aside, he doesn't have the experience, but give us 4 more years of W and we could almost, a-l-m-o-s-t be willing to give E (Barak Obama) a shot - but we won't.

D. Presidents aren't allowed more than 2 4yr terms in office, so no.

E. Obama might run, should run, but wouldn't win. Give it 8 more years, maybe 12-20, but not in 4. I hope he runs, though.

F. Dean. Dean, dean, dean. What are we gonna do about this guy, huh? I'm going to say he will run.

G. McCain won't.

Although my tendancies are to go with D, because D would be a step up from the current presidency, I'd still like to see John Kerry in the White House. I thought He was a pretty strong candidate. Come on, he's a windsurfer! He'd be the first windsurfer in the White House. I'd just want to see him be president cause the mental image of Kerry out on the water surrounded by a crew of secret service men on surf boards in full on suits just really amuses me. I also like John Edwards. He could be pretty strong next time around.

I'm thinking Obama, although who knows if we'll see a black president in our lifetimes. Hilary is an option, but I think she's still too polarizing. Hey, if gay marriage could sink Kerry, what would the Republicans do with the byzantine power-sharing that is the Clinton's marriage?

Of the choices, I'd have to go with Edwards, because I don't know that a country willing to go out of its way to ban gay marriages will be ready for someone black or female on the ticket. And Kerry just lost. But maybe someone else will rise to superstardom in the next four years. But I'd love to vote for a Clinton-Obama team. Really shake things up.

Aaaaiiiigggghhh this is hard

I would love to see Barak Obama run, but I'm not sure he can win.

John McCain has the best chance of winning.

John Edwards would also be fine.

John Kerry (my state senator - we still love you man! - has no shot)

Hillary Clinton and Howard Dean - ummm nope. Even though I'll vote for whoever runs on the Democratic ticket - probably.

None of the above. Hillary is more hated in the red states than Osama and would be suicide on the part of the Democrats. Kerry and Edwards had their shot. I wouldn't mind Dean but that's unlikely. Obama would be great but needs to finish at least one term in the Senate.

I think it should be someone who's not on the radar yet.

The bigger question is who the Republicans will run. Surely it won't be Dick "Near-Death" Cheney. Let's hope it's not Jeb!

c. Edwards. He's warm and friendly enough to make a better dent in the Midwest and South.

I think Barak Obama would make an excellent choice for Vice-President but, at the moment, he is too inexperienced to be elected President. I believe one day he will be one of our great Presidents just not in 2008. As for President, well I don't think any of those options really work. With the exception of McCain, I don't think any of them are really electable and I do not foresee McCain jumping to the Dems. At most he might leave the GOP and run as an Independent but ultimately, I don't think he will leave the GOP. So who should/will the nominee be? I think it's far too soon to speculate and I'm guessing it will be someone who might not even be on the Presidential radar just yet. I just hope whoever it is s/he will be kick-ass. Wait, this was supposed to be a one letter answer, huh? Oops.-KateMcD

Hillary or Edwards. God help us if Kerry does. Obama will still be too green - he could probably handle domestic issues, but he won't have enough experience with international affairs at that point. I think Edwards probably has the best chance. A LOT of people hate Hillary.

Hillary's too divisive, she wouldn't get elected. Obama's too new. Maybe Edwards, depending on what he does the next few years. I'm actually hoping for a new option to present itself. Wouldn't it be nice if someone emerged from the Democratic base as an actual leader of the party? There hasn't been one of those in awhile.

It's funny, all the neocons I know keep taunting me with the Hillary card and laughing at me when I say she'll never run because she's smarter than that. They want her to run because they know she can't win.

Would love Kerry to try again, but he also is a divisive figure now. Edwards would be nice, but I dunno. Dean will probably be haunted by his "Yeeeeeeeee!" moment for the rest of his life to ever get to run again.

Would LOVE Obama, but he'll just be halfway through his Senate term and maybe he'll be too freshmany as of yet. Would love McCain, too, but for some reason actual veterans never go over as well as they ought to.

I pretty much would have to go with "nasty skanky-ass crack whore."

Not Hillary Clinton! I don't think she can win. Someone like Barak Obama would be very, very cool.

John McCain should run as a Republican. Really, they still love him, they do! Do they? They should. God forbid we should have two decent canidates. Seriously. I want John McCain verses Barak Obama. Then I can happily go back to voting for Nader, instead of crying into my pillow every night. (Kidding! Well, not about the crying thing. But I'd vote for Obama. I think.)

But that's all a pipe dream, isn't it?

I heard that Howard Dean might have a chance at the Democratic party Chair? That would be good. We need someone with energy, someone who will help the party form a clear message. *Not* someone who thinks the solution is to become more Republican. (::shudder::) So I'm excited about the possibilty of Dean. (Though it should be noted that I literally heard this on the street. Hm, my sources could be incorrect.)

Edwards... eh. I've seen some interesting arguments about how he states issues in terms of values and he's a southerner and blah blah blah. It seems a bit like AA's definition of insanity to me. I want to see someone with *vision*. I don't think Edwards is that person.

But man, that smile! ::sigh::

H. None of the above.

Although I guess if there's no perfect star Democrat who emerges over the next 4 years, then I would have to pick Kerry and/or Edwards to run in 2008. They didn't win this time around, but they came close - and without George "the Messiah" Bush running against them and inspiring the religious nuts to vote in record numbers, maybe they'd stand a chance.

Just for the record, though - I would LOVE to see Hillary and Barak take the White House in 2008. LOVE LOVE LOVE. But I just don't think they stand a chance. If this election has taught me anything, it's that America is not as forward-thinking and tolerant as it pretends to be. Too many people, men and women, are intimidated/jealous/scared of Hillary. Next time around, I want someone who can and will WIN.

Edwards, unless someone new (Evan Bayh?) makes it onto the scene. Clinton and Dean are seen as too left, Probably too soon for Obama (but I will volunteer for him as soon as he announces). Unfortunately, I don't see McCain becoming a Democrat though he might get my vote even as a Republican.

Hillary should and will run. None of the choices you listed except her are viable and electable candidates.

The former Major of NYC would make a good VP for her.

I would vote for both.

I think Hilary Clinton will be pressured to run. I think John McCain should be pressured to run. I admire both, but should both senators happen to run for the coveted office of President of the United States, I would betray my deomocratic party and vote for John. I love that man.
